Qualification/Experience

Van’s life was radically changed when he heard the gospel in college and, by God’s grace, came to trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Southern Methodist University, Van spent four years in the Financial Services Industry. As a Financial Advisor, Van learned how to achieve strong, lasting collaboration with his clients. But after years of building meaningful relationships, it became abundantly clear to Van that his true passion was counseling. In 2019, Van felt the Lord prompt him to continue his education and in 2022, Van graduated from Texas State University with his Master’s in Professional Counseling.

Van believes that his life experience and deep compassion, together with his professional training and calling from God, uniquely equip him to journey with his clients through their wounds, sufferings, and/or struggles towards healing, restoration, and wholeness.

As a Christian counselor, Van’s purpose is to display the glory of God, who he believes is the Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6) and true source of joy, healing, restoration, and abundant life despite the severity of our circumstances; still, Van’s natural warmth and easy-going personality makes his therapy practice comfortable for his clients regardless of their spiritual beliefs.

Van is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A) and an active member of the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC). Van has experience helping clients with spiritual struggles and faith development, work-related struggles, grief and loss, shame and guilt, anxiety and fear, depression, anger management, perfectionism, sexual addiction and recovery, unresolved childhood issues, relationship issues and conflict resolution, pre-marital preparation, as well as money and priority management.

Van has been married to his best friend, Meredith, since 2020. They have been blessed with a precious young daughter to love and to lead. In Van’s spare time, he enjoys reading, playing board games, golfing, and snowboarding when his schedule permits.
