Steve is a Licensed Master Social Worker since 2014. His therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion and empathy. He is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of being criticized or misunderstood. He uses a person-centered approach to meet your specific needs and goals and draws from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Here’s what all the above means: He will strive to build a strong alliance with you, based on trust, respect, and empathy. He is committed to helping you develop self-awareness, insight, and resilience that will empower you to make (and sustain) positive changes in your life. He was a junior high pastor for 4 years (2000), working alongside tweens and parents during very difficult life transitions and stages. He later served as a pastoral care pastor for 4 years providing emotional and spiritual support during weekly counseling sessions, with adolescents over the age of 13, adults, married couples, and families. He has experience working in a psychiatric facility where he provided crisis intervention for children, adolescents, adults, and families diagnosed with psychological disorders. Steve is experienced working with Anxiety, Depression, Grief/Loss, Self-esteem, Pre-marital Counseling, Issues related to adolescents, Parent-coaching.
Steve is married to an incredible woman who is a nurse and has 3 amazing children (one daughter and two sons). In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking and serves as a worship leader in his local church.
