Qualification/Experience
Elizabeth has a background in teaching and youth ministry. When students and their families shared their emotional and spiritual struggles with Elizabeth, this planted a desire in her to pursue a career in counseling. While also raising her three children, she has acquired training and skills for counseling youth and adults at Austin State Hospital during her year-long internship as a Master Level Student Counselor at St. Edward’s University. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, she is enthusiastic about counseling children, teens, adults, couples, and families at The Timothy Center.
Working with people from various backgrounds and stages of life, Elizabeth is passionate about helping her clients with their marriage and relationship issues, self-esteem issues, career and life transition issues, anxiety, and depression. She often utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and person-centered therapy with her clients. Elizabeth is currently receiving additional training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. She has also completed an EFCT Externship.
In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family and pets, traveling, fishing, boating, exercising, and visiting parks in the hill country. Elizabeth, her husband, and her children are members of a local church, and they love serving the Lord.
One of Elizabeth’s favorite Bible verses is I Corinthians 15:57 “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
