Mack Wigley, M.A., LMFT, LPC-S


Mr. Wigley received his bachelors of science degree in psychology as well as his master’s degree in counseling and guidance with special emphasis in school psychology, from Southwest Texas State University in 1979. He has been licensed for more than thirty years as a Licensed Counselor and approved Supervisor including licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. He is certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors, board certified as a Trauma Specialist and certified as a trainer for Neuro-sequential Model of Therapeutics.


Mr. Wigley has served on the board of the National Association of Psychiatric Treatment Centers, an organization that lobbied and supported children and adolescent needs for mental health treatment services. Presentations include developing facilities as Trauma Informed Care sites, Family Systems Theory, Treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder, developing Organizational Cultures in Health Settings, Neuro-sequential Model of Therapeutics and various experiential models incorporated in the mental health setting.

Mack Wigley retired as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the San Marcos treatment Center in July of 2022, having served twice, once from 1995-2000 and 2014-2022 respectively. He has dedicated more than 45 years of his professional life to the mental health and educational needs of children and their families. He operates on the premise that spiritual faith, the family and community are the unifying foundations of health and the strengths required for continued personal growth.

Mr. Wigley began his career in 1977 as a mental health worker with the Brown Schools The flagship San (Marcos Treatment Center) and has experience at all levels of behavioral health as well as Long term Acute Care ranging from mental health worker, ROPES facilitator, clinical director and executive leadership.
